Struck by the Jalayrid ruler Shaykh Uways I, just before his own name was placed on his coinage in 759. All other Jalayrid coins dated 758 and earlier are anonymous, and it is likely that Shaykh Uways recognized Jani Beg as his nominal overlord in anticipation of imminent invasion by either the Golden Horde troops or others seeking power after the demise of the Ilkhans earlier that same year.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Standard circulation coin Dinar - Jani Beg (Baghdad) 758 (1357) from Golden Horde made of Silver weighing 2.67 g is that it features a unique blend of Islamic and Mongolian influences in its design. The coin's obverse side features Arabic script and the name of the mint city, Baghdad, while the reverse side features a stylized representation of a Mongolian horseman, symbolizing the Golden Horde's Mongolian roots. This blend of cultures reflects the diverse history and cultural exchange that took place during the Golden Horde's reign in the 14th century.
