Interesting fact
The Didrachm from Chios (Ionia) was one of the first coins to feature a portrait of a human on one side and an animal on the other. The obverse (front) side of the coin features a bearded man wearing a laurel wreath, while the reverse (back) side features a lion's head. This design was a departure from earlier coins, which often featured abstract designs or symbols, and marked a shift towards more realistic and representational art on coins.
