Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Didrachm from Syracuse (Sicily) is that it features the image of a quadriga, or a chariot pulled by four horses, on its obverse side. This design was a common motif in ancient Greek coinage and symbolized the power and prestige of the issuing city-state. The Didrachm was also used as a standard unit of exchange in the ancient Greek world, and its value was equivalent to two drachms or 1/6 of a stater.
