Comment

HMZ attributes this coin to the House of Zähringen, and not to the House of Habsburg-Laufenburg. Possibly issued by Rudolf of Zähringen (d. 1191), son of Conrad I. Rudolf was Archbishop of Mainz and Bishop of Liège.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the "Vierzipfliger" Denier coin from the Counts of Habsburg-Laufenburg (Aargau) is that it features a unique design element - a four-leaf clover on the reverse side, which is said to bring good luck and prosperity to the holder.
