Comment

Note various legends at reverse.

Son of Boleslaus II, Ulrich (Oldřich in Czech) was duke of Bohemia from 1012 to 1033, when he was deposed by his brother Jaromír, and then again briefly in 1034, after Jaromír was deposed and blinded. During his reign, Ulrich subdued Moravia (then administered by Polish duke Bolesław I the Brave) and incorporated it into Bohemian state.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Standard circulation coin Denier - Ulrich ND (1012-1034) from Kingdom of Bohemia made of Billon weighing 0.99 g is that it was minted during the reign of King Ulrich of Bohemia, who was also known as Ulrich of Premyslid. He was a member of the Premyslid dynasty, which was a powerful noble family in Bohemia during the Middle Ages. The coin's design likely reflects the king's influence and power during his reign.
