Interesting fact
The Denier Tournois - Henri III (Nantes; 1st type) coin was minted during the reign of King Henri III of France, who ruled from 1574 to 1589. This coin was one of the first coins to feature a portrait of the king, which was a departure from the traditional coat of arms design that had been used on previous French coins. The portrait of Henri III on this coin was designed by the French engraver and medalist, Jacques de Bazalgette.
