Interesting fact
The Denier Tournois was a coin that was widely used during the reign of Henri III of France, and it was the first coin to feature a portrait of the king. The right portrait of Henri III on the Bayonne minted coin was a unique feature, as most coins of that time featured a left-facing portrait. This made the coin easily recognizable and helped to prevent counterfeiting.
