Svatopluk was duke of Bohemia (1107 - 1109) during times of intra-dynastic struggles. He is noted for his extermination of Vršovice noble family in 1108. One of the surviving Vršovice noblemen killed the duke on military campaign following year. After his death, reign passed on his younger brother Vladislaus.Interesting fact
The Denier - Svatopluk ND (1107-1109) coin from the Kingdom of Bohemia was made of silver, but it was also one of the first coins to feature a portrait of a king, specifically King Svatopluk II, on one of its sides. This was a departure from the traditional design of coins at the time, which usually featured an image of a saint or a religious symbol. The inclusion of the king's portrait was a sign of the growing power and influence of the monarchy in Bohemia during the 12th century.
