The coins of Renaud of Bar imitated the designs of those of Theobald II of the Duchy of Lorraine (see link). A monetary alliance between Theobald and the Bishop of Toul dating to 1307 is known, so perhaps there was a similar alliance with Renaud for the Bihopric of Metz.
