Comment

Quite rare piece, undated.

Few varieties at the level of known legends, 3 different legends for the obverse, two for the reverse, of which one where the O was engraved with the aid of a reworked V.

Bernays and Vannerus mention a lily copy replaced by a fleuron (BV, p. 36). Weiller contests the existence of this piece (Brussels Museum) and explains that the part in question "is wrong, but similar to all the other coins" (Weiller, p. 195). Probst does not even mention this copy or any variant.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during the reign of Henri V, also known as Henri the Blonde, who was the Count of Luxembourg from 1247 to 1281. He was a prominent figure in the history of Luxembourg and his reign saw the expansion of the county's territory and influence. The coin itself is made of silver and weighs 0.71 grams, which was a significant amount for a circulating coin at that time.
