Elsen uses a narrower date range than some others, who use only the dates of Bruno's reign, 1038-1057. Presumably this has to do witht the overlaps of Henry IV's reign as King of Germany.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during the reign of Bruno III, who was the Margrave of Frisia from 1050 to 1057. During his reign, he played a significant role in the politics of the Holy Roman Empire and was known for his military campaigns against the Viking raids in the region. This coin, made of silver and weighing 0.7 grams, would have been a significant unit of currency during that time and would have been used in everyday transactions.
