Comment

Pierre Crinon proposes to allocate this rare denier to Metz. Mayor of the palace under the reign of Merovingian King Thierry IV, Charles Martel was the real holder of political power in the 8th century in the Frankish kingdom. Considered the founder of the line of Carolingians, he is the grandfather of Charlemagne.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it was minted during the reign of Charles Martel, who was the Mayor of the Palace of the Frankish Kingdom and is considered one of the most important figures in medieval European history. Despite his powerful position, Charles Martel's name does not appear on the coin, as it was common practice at the time for coins to be minted anonymously. This coin is a rare example of a silver denier from the Unified Frankish Kingdom and is a valuable piece for collectors and historians.
