Comment
Mikhail Andreyevich, the younger son of Andrey Dmitriyevich, struck coins in his own domain, in Vereya. Coins of Mikhail, struck according to the weight standard used in 1435-1445 (0.51-0.52 grams) are very rare. It is possible that they were issued only for a short period of time, between the return of Vasily Vasiliyevich of Moscow to the throne in 1447 and until the abolition of the Mozhaysk Duchy in 1454, though Mikhail remained in control of Vereya even after 1454.Weight may vary 0.34..0.49
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an image of Mikhail Andreevich, a prominent wrestler from the Principality of Vereya, on one side, while the other side bears the inscription "Денга" (Denga), which means "money" in Old Russian. This coin was issued during the reign of Mikhail Andreevich as the prince of Vereya, and it is believed that the image of the wrestler was included to promote his popularity and strengthen his rule.
