Interesting fact
The Pattern Denga - Ekaterina II (Novodel) 1796 coin from the Russian Empire is interesting because it features a unique design that was never used on any other Russian coin. The obverse of the coin depicts a crowned bust of Catherine the Great, while the reverse features a crowned eagle with outstretched wings, holding a scepter and an orb. This design was created by the Russian engraver, I.I. Novodel, and it was intended to be used as a pattern for a new denga coin, but it was ultimately never adopted for circulation. As a result, this coin is a rare and valuable collector's item for numismatists.
