Interesting fact

The Denarius coin was used during the Roman Empire and was made of silver. However, during the reign of Vespasian (71 AD), the silver content of the coin was reduced to 30% and the weight was reduced to 3 grams. This was done to increase the number of coins that could be minted and to pay for military campaigns. Despite the reduction in silver content, the coin still maintained its value and was widely used throughout the empire.
