Comment

The gens Plautia was a plebeian family.

Lucius Plautius Plancus was adopted by Lucius Plautius but was born Gaius Munatius Plancus within the gens Munatia.

Variants are known without S ending obverse and/or reverse letterings.

Interesting fact

The Denarius coin , which was minted in 47 BC during the Roman Republic, features an image of a bust of the Roman goddess Libertas on the obverse (front) side, and an image of a Roman warship on the reverse (back) side. This design was chosen to symbolize the idea of Roman liberty and the power of the Roman navy.
