Interesting fact

The Denarius coin featuring Marcus Aurelius and Minerva was minted during a time of great turmoil in the Roman Empire. The year 147-148 saw a devastating plague sweep through the empire, known as the Antonine Plague, which is believed to have killed up to 5 million people, or about 10% of the empire's population. Despite this crisis, the Roman Empire continued to function and produce coins like this one, which feature the emperor and various gods and goddesses.
