The gens Fonteia was a plebeian family at Rome first mentioned toward the end of the third century BC. The first of the Fonteii to obtain the consulship was Gaius Fonteius Capito, consul suffectus in 33 BC.Interesting fact
The Denarius coin features an image of the Roman goddess Concordia on the reverse side, which is fitting since Concordia was the goddess of harmony and unity. The inclusion of her image on the coin may have been a nod to the importance of maintaining peace and unity within the Roman Republic during a time of political turmoil.
