Interesting fact
The Chalkon coin features a unique design on its obverse side, depicting a horseman riding a horse in a galloping pose. This design was a departure from the more traditional designs found on ancient Greek coins, which often featured gods, goddesses, or other mythological figures. The horseman on the Chalkon coin is believed to represent the legendary hero Heracles, who was revered in Thessaly, the region where the coin was minted.
