Interesting fact

The Chalkon coin was used as a form of currency in ancient Greece, specifically in the city-state of Pherai in Thessaly. The coin features an image of the mythical creature, the Chimera, on one side and the head of the nymph Chalkis on the other. The Chalkon coin was unique in that it was made of bronze, which was a less valuable material than the silver and gold coins that were commonly used at the time. Despite its relatively low value, the Chalkon coin was widely accepted and used in trade throughout the region.
