Comment

Date range is artificial, as the countermarking had to be done after 1805.

This coin is not mentioned by Scho/II. Possibly there is a mix-up with Scho/II 1423 which has a countermark SM in a beaded circle with a fleur-de-lis.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Cayenne Stuiver coin from Sint Maarten (Netherlands Antilles) is that it was used as a form of currency in the island nation during the 19th century, specifically between 1805 and 1820. It was made of silver and featured the STM initials, which stand for "St. Maarten," as well as a fleur-de-lis symbol. The coin's design and materials reflect the island's history as a Dutch colony, and its use as a form of currency during that time period.
