According to Day, et al. in MEC 12, shortly after introduction of this type in 1386 it was rapidly debased from 0.750 to 0.360 fineness.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the "Carrarese" coin is that it was made of silver that was later debased to 0.360, which means the coin's purity was reduced, but it still maintained its value.
