Comment
This type of bronze is classified in volume I of the New Atlas with the ambiani coins. The authors nevertheless specify that “the rare known provenances do not allow us to affirm that this variety belongs to the common background of ambiani”.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it features a boar on one side, which was a symbol of strength and courage in ancient Celtic culture. The boar was also associated with the goddess Artemis, who was revered by the Celts for her power and protection. The inclusion of the boar on this coin may suggest that the Aulerci Eburovices tribe placed great importance on these qualities and sought to embody them in their currency.
