Comment

This coin is an imitation of the Bourgeois Fort made under Philip IV. We can differenciate them easily as the Lorraine version is smaller and lighter than the French version.

Varieties:
BURGENSIS replaces LOTOREGIE reverse, like in the original French coin (Flon 34).

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about this coin is that it features an image of Frederick IV, who was the last ruler of the House of Habsburg in the Duchy of Lorraine. He ruled from 1312 until his death in 1328, and his reign was marked by tensions with the Church and the nobility. Despite these challenges, he was able to maintain stability in the duchy and implement several reforms, including the creation of a new coinage system that included the Bourgeois Fort coin.
