Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Tenshō Hishi Ōban coin is that it was issued during a time of great change in Japan. The Tenshō period (1573-1591) saw the rise of the powerful warlord Toyotomi Hideyoshi, who would eventually become the de facto ruler of Japan. The coin was minted in 1588, just a few years before Hideyoshi's death, and it features an image of a paulownia tree, which was a symbol of the ruling shogunate. Despite its age, the coin remains a popular collector's item and a testament to Japan's rich numismatic history.
