Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Ōban "Tenpō Ōban" ND (1838-1841) coin from Japan is that it was issued during a time of economic reform in Japan, known as the Tenpō period, which aimed to promote economic growth and stability by introducing new currency and monetary policies. The Ōban coin was one of the new currency denominations introduced during this period, and it was designed to be a high-value coin that could be used for large transactions. Despite its value, the Ōban coin was not widely used and was eventually discontinued, making it a rare and sought-after collector's item among numismatists today.
