Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the Aureus coin is that it features a rare portrait of Gaius Vibius Varus, a Roman politician and military leader, on the obverse (front side), while the reverse (back side) depicts a Victory standing on a globe, holding a wreath and a palm branch. This coin was minted during a time of political turmoil in Rome, just a few years before the assassination of Julius Caesar in 44 BC. Despite its age, the Aureus remains a valuable and highly sought-after collector's item among numismatists and historians.
