The Bronze coin , which was issued by the City of Pax Julia (Turdetani people) during the reign of Augustus (27 BC - 14 AD), features a unique design on its reverse side. Instead of the usual depiction of a Roman deity or mythological figure, the coin bears an image of a stork standing on a rock, surrounded by a wreath of leaves. This unusual design has led some numismatists to speculate that the coin may have been issued to commemorate a significant event or festival related to the stork, which was possibly considered a sacred animal by the Turdetani people.
