Comment

The coins with year 1701 is an error in date. They were minted in 1707.
Error with other dates, like 1078.
Most of the coins are offset, then the date is not visible.
The coins were stamped in ardite coins. So, in some of them it is possible to see Phillip III or IV bust or the Barcelona shield.

Here is one more example of this coin, where clearly the shield of Barcelona can be seen, offset, on the obverse, while the bust of Carlos III is clearly struck on the reverse. The legends on both sides are scrambled with the original ardite legends, making it difficult to read.

These 2 Diners coins are easily recognizable by the symbol close to the rim, three times at 120° on both sides:

Interesting fact

The Ardite coin was minted during a time of political turmoil in the Principality of Catalonia. Charles III, also known as Charles the Pretender, was a claimant to the Spanish throne who was supported by the Catalans. The coin was minted in 1707-1711, a period when Catalonia was fighting for its independence from Spain. Despite the political tensions, the coin was still made of copper, which was a common material for coins at the time. This fact highlights the resilience and resourcefulness of the people of Catalonia during a time of conflict and political upheaval.
