Interesting fact

The Antoninianus coin , which features Philippus I (also known as Philip the Arab) and the goddess Laetitia on its reverse, was minted during a time of significant economic and political change in the Roman Empire. The coin's silver content was actually decreased during Philip's reign, from 50% to 40%, in an effort to address inflation and debasement of the currency. Despite this, the coin remained an important part of everyday transactions and trade throughout the empire.
