One interesting fact about the Antoninianus coin featuring Gordian III is that it was issued during a time of great turmoil in the Roman Empire. Gordian III was the last emperor of the "Year of the Six Emperors," a period of political instability in which multiple emperors were appointed and assassinated within a short span of time. Despite this, Gordian III's reign lasted for five years, and his coinage, including the Antoninianus, remained in circulation for centuries after his death.
