Interesting fact
The Antoninianus coin , which features Neptune on the reverse, was minted during the reign of Emperor Gallienus (253-268 AD). At that time, Neptune was not only the god of the sea, but also the god of fertility and agriculture. The inclusion of Neptune on the coin may suggest that the Roman Empire was placing a strong emphasis on agriculture and fertility during Gallienus' reign.
