Interesting fact
The Antoninianus - Carus (CONSECRATIO) coin was minted during the reign of Emperor Carus, who ruled the Roman Empire from 283 to 285 AD. It's interesting to note that Carus was the first Roman Emperor to be born outside of Italy, in the province of Illyricum (modern-day Albania). Despite his military background and successful campaigns against the Persians, Carus' reign was cut short when he was killed by a lightning strike while on campaign in 285 AD. The coinage minted during his reign, including the Antoninianus - Carus (CONSECRATIO) coin, provides a glimpse into the economic and political climate of the Roman Empire during this time period.
