Comment
For French colonies in America : Louisiana, Acadie and Canada. This issue was imported by a private trading company, the Company of the Indies. It faced difficulties circulating the coins and they attempted to have them transferred to the government of New France. This not being successful, they returned most of the coinage to France in 1726 with only 8000 pieces remaining in circulation in New France.
