Interesting fact
One interesting fact about this coin is that it has a unique countermark, "CROWNED G.P." over 1 Tanga - Miguel I, which indicates that it was issued during the reign of King Luiz I of Portugal, who ruled from 1861 to 1889. The countermark was added to the coin to signify that it was issued by the Portuguese India branch of the Portuguese mint, which was established in 1876. This coin is a rare example of a coin that was issued during this time period and is highly sought after by collectors.
