Interesting fact
The 8 Skilling Lybsk coin from Denmark, issued during the reign of Christian IV in 1645, features a unique design element that sets it apart from other coins of its time. The obverse side of the coin bears an image of the king seated on his throne, surrounded by the inscription "CHRISTIAN IV D.G. REX DANIÆ" (meaning "Christian IV, by the grace of God, King of Denmark"). However, the reverse side of the coin features a distinctive "Lybsk" design, which includes a stylized image of a tree with branches that spread out to form the shape of a cross. This design was meant to symbolize the connection between the king and the Christian faith, and it was a hallmark of coins issued during Christian IV's reign.
