One interesting fact about this coin is that it was issued during the reign of Isabella II of Spain, who was the first woman to rule Spain in her own right. She was only 16 years old when she ascended to the throne in 1833, and her reign lasted until 1868. This coin was minted during her early years as queen, and it features her image on one side and the coat of arms of Spain on the other. The countermark on the coin indicates that it was issued for use in the Philippines, which was a Spanish colony at the time.
