Giant panda’s (Ailuropoda melanoleuca) playful personality, peaceful demeanour and friendly characteristics.Like old friends, the two giant pandas sit beside one another, both facing the viewer while feeding onbamboo leaves and stalks. Above one panda’s head is the Chinese character for “friendship”, which, along with the engraved words “FRIENDSHIP” and “AMITIE”, transforms the wildlife-themedimage into a cross-cultural celebration of friendship. The reverse also features the word “CANADA” and “2019”, along with a “P” mark that denotesthe plated nature of the coin.
