The fascinating bald eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) is Canada's largest bird of prey and the only eagle found exclusively in North America. As an adult, it has a wingspan of over two meters, measures around one meter erect and can weigh up to seven kilograms. Females are generally larger than males. The bird of prey can be recognized by its dark brown body and white head, large golden eyes, bright yellow beak and massive yellow legs armed with sharp claws.
