Comment
Barely larger than the domestic cat, the Arctic fox (Vulpes lagopus) is a silent and skilful hunter. The animal has an exceptionally efficient coat that keeps it warm at temperatures as low as -50°C. Its summer coat varies in hue from brown to grayish-brown and bluish-gray, sometimes dark. During the long months of Arctic winter, most foxes are immaculately white, although some populations have a pale blue-gray winter coat. The canid's thick fur covers its small, rounded ears and paw pads for optimum protection against the cold.Packaging
The coin is encapsulated and presented in a burgundy double-shell case featuring the Royal Canadian Mint logo. The case comes with a black protective box.
