Comment
This series of coins commemorates the 800th anniversary of the monastery of Chilandar located in the Akete or peninsula of Mount Athos in Greece. Initially founded in the tenth century and then abandoned, it was refounded in 1198 by former Serbian king Stefan Nemanja, who became Saint Simeon, and his son Rastko Nemanjic, who became Saint Sava. Although located in Greece, it is a high place of Serbian religious and cultural life.Interesting fact
