Comment
1893 dated Jubilee bust type:It would appear that, on this occasion, the Krause & Mischler interpretation of the mintage figures for the 1893 issue may be more precise than other references. All catalogues seem to agree that this type is particularly scarce, based on their valuations, but whilst Collectors' Coins GB and Coin Yearbook both group together the mintages for the 1893 Jubilee Head and Old Head issues, K&M are the only reference to specify a low mintage for the former type.
The standard weight of these coins was 1/11 troy ounce (43.6 grains).
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 6 Pence - Victoria (2nd portrait; 2nd reverse) coin from the United Kingdom is that it was minted with a silver composition of .925, which is higher than the standard .900 silver used in many other coins of the time. This makes it a unique and valuable coin for collectors.
