Brandenburg-Prussia or Brandenburg-Prussia (German: Brandenburg-Preußen) is the modern historiographical name for the union of the Hohenzollern territories in Brandenburg and Prussia[1] between 1618 and 1701. Based on the Electorate of Brandenburg, the main branch of the Hohenzollern held the Dynastic Union with the rulers of the Duchy of Prussia, which guaranteed succession in this territory with the death of the last Duke, in the male line, in 1618. Another consequence of the marriage was the incorporation of the Rhine minor Principalities of Cleves, Mark and Ravensberg after the Treaty of Xanten in 1614.

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the 6 Groschen coin from the State of Brandenburg-Prussia is that it was minted during a time of significant economic and political change in the region. The coin was issued during the reign of Frederick William, who was the Elector of Brandenburg and the Duke of Prussia. During his reign, he implemented a number of reforms aimed at modernizing the economy and military of Brandenburg-Prussia, which ultimately helped to lay the foundation for the kingdom's rise to power in the 18th century. Despite being a standard circulation coin, the 6 Groschen coin is a valuable piece of history that provides a glimpse into the economic and political climate of the time.
