Comment

Qutb-ud-din Mubarak Shah (also called Mubarak Khan) (r. 1316–1320) was a ruler of the Delhi Sultanate, a member of the Khalji dynasty and son of Alauddin Khalji.

The coinage of Mubarak Shah is noted for its variety and the various titles he gave himself. According to Pheru, his mint-master, Mubarak Shah created 44 denominations, comprising more than 70 types during his four year reign. Nine types of billon coins are known, being 12, 8, 6, 4 and 2 Gani pieces. There is some fiduciary element to the billon coins as the metal value was less than the declared value.

Interesting fact
