Comment

In 2020, intended to coincide with the launch of the new James Bond 007 movie No Time to Die, the Royal Mint released a Limited Special Issue James Bond 007 Aston Martin DB5 £2000 Two Thousand Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 999.9 fine gold weighing two kilograms of pure gold. As it turned out, the movie launch was actually delayed due to the international Covid-19 pandemic.

The coin was also struck in a variety of denominations and metals including copper-nickel, silver proof and gold proof. Issue Limit: 2

Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a unique design depicting James Bond, the famous fictional character created by Ian Fleming, in honor of the 25th anniversary of the Bond film franchise. The coin's design shows Bond standing in front of the Union Jack flag, with his signature gun and a martini glass in hand. The coin's obverse side features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The coin's gold content and limited mintage make it a highly collectible item for both coin collectors and James Bond fans.
