Comment
The Austrian State Treaty, was signed on 15 May 1955 in Vienna at Belvedere Palace by representatives of the allied occupying powers USA, Soviet Union, France and Great Britain as well as the Austrian Federal Government and officially came into force on 27 July 1955.Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the 500 Schilling (Staatsvertrag) 1980 coin from Austria is that it was minted to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the Austrian State Treaty, which was signed in 1867. The treaty established Austria's independence and neutrality, and the coin's design reflects this history with an image of the Austrian coat of arms on one side and the treaty's signing ceremony on the other.
