Comment
A re-interpretation of William Wyon's original Crown pattern from 1817, the second in a series of coins in the engraver's series. The coin was issued in a variety of denominations in both gold and silver proof.Technically not a piedfort coin as the diameter was increased from the gold proof edition of the same denomination, however in the legislation it was described as a piedfort.
Interesting fact
One interesting fact about the coin is that it features a unique design, the Three Graces, which represents the three goddesses of grace, beauty, and creativity from Greek mythology, namely, Euphrosyne, Thalia, and Aglaea. This design was created by the artist, David Knapton, and it's the first time that this design has been used on a coin.
