Interesting fact

One interesting fact about the Pattern 500 Lire (Dante Alighieri - Trial Strike) 1965 from Italy is that it features a unique design that was not ultimately adopted for the regular circulation coinage. The obverse of the coin depicts a portrait of Dante Alighieri, the famous Italian poet and author of the Divine Comedy, while the reverse features an image of the Divine Comedy itself. This design was only used for a small number of trial strikes and is considered a rare and collectible variation of the 500 Lire coin.
