Interesting fact

The 1995 500 Francs Jean Renoir coin was part of a series of commemorative coins issued by the French mint to honor famous French artists. The coin features a portrait of Jean Renoir, a well-known French filmmaker and actor, on one side, and the other side features a scene from his film "Les Parapluies de Cherbourg" (The Umbrellas of Cherbourg). The coin was designed by the French engraver, Pierre Rodier.
