Date of issue 12-07-2017Interesting fact
The Sigismund Dus Primus coin was issued to commemorate the 500th anniversary of the coronation of King Sigismund I the Old, who was the first king of Poland to be crowned with a crown made of silver and gold. The coin's design features an image of the king on the obverse, and the reverse features the coat of arms of Poland and the inscription "50 ZłOTYCH" (50 Zlotys). The use of the number 50 in the denomination and the weight of the coin (62.2 grams) is a nod to the 500th anniversary of the king's coronation.
